OEKO-TEX Standard 100 is a testing and certification system for textile products, regardless of the stage of the production process they are in. A final product with the OEKO-TEX Standard 100 label means that all components and ingredients that make up the product are credible through laboratory testing and certified materials from suppliers. The OEKO-TEX Standard 100 label guarantees that each component of the product has been tested for harmful substances and is safe for human health.
OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certification is suitable for raw material manufacturers, semi-finished products, finished products, supporting materials, and textile product traders.
Products are categorized into four classes based on their intended use, with each class having different requirements that must be met and the limit values applied:
- Class I – Covers products for babies and children up to 3 years of age.
- Class II – Refers to products that come into direct contact with the skin, such as shirts, underwear, mattresses, etc.
- Class III – Covers products that have little or minimal contact with the skin, such as vests and jackets.
- Class IV – Refers to decorative materials such as tablecloths, curtains, etc.
